Allowable vanity, maybe?[edit source]

Congratulations on Acs! It looks like the article falls into the "Community Site" loophole in the Uncyclopedia Vanity Policies, which allows you to create a page for your little circle of friends, enemies, and hangers-on. It's not a terribly large loophole, however. There are a lot of ways that the article could fall afoul of the admins, so if you don't want it to disappear down the memory hole, you'd be well-advised to read the Vanity Policies. For real. Two things that one admin (me) gets particularly upset about: user pages that aren't "sub-pages" of the main community page (they belong at Acs/SovietSquirrel, not SovietSquirrel); and spilling over into places that aren't funny (don't say that one of your lame friends created the Earth, for example). Also, you'll want to do some work on the page -- it also got marked as "No Redeeming Value" because we admins like to make little side wagers on whether we'll ever see you again. I've got five bucks/quid/euro says you'll swing by and remove {{NRV}}, so don't let me down. -- Sir BobBobBob ! S ? [rox!|sux!] Prince%21.gif 15:39, 3 March 2006 (UTC)

Reply (reg; SovietSquirrel etc)[edit source]

I'm pretty new here, and i have no idea how to reply to you. So i guess ill just post it here? and just to be sure ill post it on your discussion too. Though your an admin, maybe you get too much spam in your discussion. Ill see after.

I think i understand what you want me to do. Ill create the SovietSquirrel page as a sub-page then, as ACS/SovietSquirrel, like you asked. But that means it'll have 2 pages then, you wouldnt mind deleting that one?

[edit source]

  • I get rather confused by the protocol for replying to messages, too. It all goes back to the days when Wiki's were carved from wood (Wiki, as you know, comes from "Tiki", the tropical tree used in Tiki Torches, but I digress) and the ancient Polynesians got tired of running from tree to tree to carry on a conversation. So they all moved to Hawaii. That has nothing whatsoever to do with this discussion, sorry... what I meant to say is, reply here, and if I don't get back to you, put a note on my talk page saying "Wake up, bozo!".
As for your pages. Teh Funneh is a highly subjective concept. What's funny to you may not be funny to me, but it may give everyone else aneurysms from laughing so hard. But they'd be dead, and I'd still be admin, so there. Anyway, since the page seems like it may be funny to the group of people making up the story, but possibly not to the Unwashed Masses, it's what we call "allowable vanity". We don't want to kill teh funneh, because we could suddenly become enlightened and Get The Damned Joke (it's happened before). But until that blessed event happens, it would be a good idea to keep the related pages safely tucked away in "ACS/whatever". Otherwise, if me or another admin sees the page and Doesn't Get It, the page could meet an untimely end.
Wow, what a bunch of random thoughts. Here's the condensed version. It's not total crap. It's funny to you. If you call it "allowable vanity" and follow the rules, it has a better chance of survival. By the way, if this seems acceptable, then I'd say feel free to remove the {{NRV|~~~~~}} tag from the articles. You've passed the test -- you replied with something other than LOL U LOZRS SUCK. That puts you ahead of 95% of the competition. (I'd go over what's already been moved and naming conventions, but this message is already too long. Talk to me Monday, when I get back from Jose's place.) -- Sir BobBobBob ! S ? [rox!|sux!] Prince%21.gif 00:11, 4 March 2006 (UTC)

reply[edit source]

LOL U ROXORS

Aye aye, thanks alot. Apreciate your help =D First nice admin ive met, haha. I'll remove the tag now, thanks again. Hope we can speak again sometime. Take care. Have fun.

And WHICH "nice" Admin spoke to you on IRC and got you to leave a message on that nasty Bob3's talk page? Huh?..... -- Sir Mhaille Icons-flag-gb.png (talk to me)

Watch those categories![edit source]

I noticed that Category:ACS Approved Articles got added to the Uncyclopedia:Pages for deletion list. The reason why is the same as the reason why you don't want to add links to your (currently) allowable vanity page from Every Article In The World. Simple, really: the squeaky wheel gets greased. Like an armadillo on a Texas highway, if you stand out, you're going to find your time in this place has expired prematurely. The allowable vanity rules give you and your friends your own playground, but if you keep throwing your ball through our windows, someone's gonna ... aw crap, I can't come up with a decent metaphor. Just be more careful, alright? -- Sir BobBobBob ! S ? [rox!|sux!] Prince%21.gif 21:01, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

Shock/gore images[edit source]

Don't. Thanks. - David Gerard 18:53, 17 March 2006 (UTC)
