Welcome to the wondrous world of Uncyclopedia!

Hello, Asterius, and welcome to Uncyclopedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If not, the door's right over there... no, a little more to your left... Yes. You seem to have a sense of humor, but to be sure that it corresponds to the kind of humor that is accepted on this site, I suggest checking out the following links:

  • Beginner's Guide - A massive guide about how to be the best you can be at Uncyclopedia. I've honestly never read the whole thing in one sitting myself, but it is very useful if you're looking for help on a specific issue.
  • How to be funny and not just stupid - Our flagship link. This will tell you how to not get booed off the metaphorical stage that is Uncyclopedia. I STRONGLY suggest reading the entire thing through, perhaps more than once.
  • Our Vanity Policies - This page details why we don't care about your friends, your school, your gay fourth period math teacher, or the homework he has you do, and in-jokes. DO NOT violate these rules.
  • Uncyclopedia:Best of - For a bit of inspiration. These are our featured articles. This is the kind of stuff we like to read around here.

Now that that's out of the way, just continue reading and you'll notice some more links. These ones are about help in general:

At Uncyclopedia, writing articles is not a requirement, but I do recommend it, it can be quite enjoyable, and it's a good chance to let others take notice of your writing. To write an article, it's recommended that you start it in your userspace (for example, User:Asterius/Article about stuff) so you can edit it at your leisure. If you decide to create it in the cold world of mainspace, make sure it is in accordance with the policies laid out above, and if you're not done put the "Work-In-Progress" template - {{construction}} - onto it as well.

If you want to write and don't know where to begin, consider contributing to Uncyclopedia's current colonization of the week, a group writing project to improve a single popular article. Anyone is welcome to contribute, so come help out! If the current colonization doesn't suit your fancy, then browse our rewrite and idea categories. We have lots of articles just sitting around for someone to improve, so don't be afraid - dive right in!

If you need help, ask me on my talkpage, ask at the Dump, or ask an administrator on their talkpage. Additionally, the Adopt-a-Noob program is there to bring experienced editors straight to you. Simply leave a message on an adopter's talkpage to join. I hope you enjoy editing here and being an Uncyclopedian, and remember: Have fun with it. We're all here to have a good time and a good laugh. Please sign your name on talkpages using four tildes (~~~~) or use the "sign" button (button_sig.png) above the edit box. Again, welcome!

Whoops[edit source]

Some humble pie

I'm very sorry about that. I should not have banned you. In my rush I did not notice that you had created that article. If you want it deleted, I can do that if you wish. You did appear to totally change it to something which was not really a parody, and if it stays like that it will probably get deleted anyway. Why not put it back how it was? Again... I'm sorry. MrN MrN9000SouthParksmall.jpg 15:18, Mar 21

Yeah the thing is I had made comment about users who I told if they didn't like it could delete it. Then some dickhead came along, deleted my article on the history and then edited and cyberbullied me. I know I sound like a whinger but it seriously pissed me off. All that person had to do is edit the part that was personally offending them. It was my fault for not reading the rules that say you can't delete material. I actually don't know how to retreive deleted material. If the page could be put to how it was originally that would be great. People can edit it but ask them not to get personal and call me an idiot. – Preceding unsigned comment added by Asterius (talk • contribs)

Things on the internet should in general not be taken 100% seriously, and as "Daddy" keeps telling me, it's best to not edit when angry... He was kind enough not to ban me. All I saw is someone continuously editing the page after his edits had been reverted to previous versions of the article by established users, so the first impression is you're the one who was trolling. I apologise as well for coming to such a hasty conclusion.
Ps. Try remember to sign your comments using four tildes (~~~~) on talk pages, cheers :) -- Luverly - (Contribs) (Talk) Heart anim.gif Brainwashed to be British and then some. Certifiably MORE British than You. Grammar Nazi, Mum , BFF & NotM, CUN , GMP . - Perkele! 15:30, 21 Mar

Okay thanks, I reverted the page to how it was before, is everything ok now? --Asterius 15:38, 21 March 2009 (UTC)

And as comes to finding the text... try look for the 'history' tab on the top of the article. You'll be happily surprised, but it seems like you figured that one out already. It takes some work to get to learn your way around here, but don't shy from asking for help. We've got a ton of us bumbling fools established users who can help... :) -- Luverly - (Contribs) (Talk) Heart anim.gif Brainwashed to be British and then some. Certifiably MORE British than You. Who can help?--Asterius 15:42, 21 March 2009 (UTC)

I have banned the assholes who were trolling you. I have put the article back to where I think you wanted it. As for how you go back to older versions you use the "history" button which is at the top of your screen in the "tabs"... From there, you can look at all the revisions to the page, and revert (and edit) which ever one you wish. Also, regarding the attack, please don't worry about that too much. We are an open wiki and so we get our fair share of assholes... If you get any further trouble with one, you can report them on UN:BP (read the instructions on the screen) or contact me personally on my talk page and I will deal with it. here is a link to the page history just for reference. I could protect the page so that new users can't edit it as you have only been here a day that would stop you doing so also. Again, I hope you enjoy your stay on Uncyc. MrN MrN9000SouthParksmall.jpg 15:47, Mar 21
Just ask a question, and you may get a response. That welcome message on your page isn't just a decoration, too. There is for example the suggestion of using your userspace for making articles... And I'm around. You might also look into the Adopt-a-Noob program for potential mentors. Or drop a line on my talk page when you need help, if I can't answer, I may know people who can. -- Luverly - (Contribs) (Talk) Heart anim.gif Brainwashed to be British and then some. Thank you very much. I look forward to linking the page and continuing with the article as well as making submissions to the bogan page of UN. I read all the noob articles and hopefully i won't be a noob for much longer. lol, what's with the pie? We are anonymous we are legion.--Asterius 15:56, 21 March 2009 (UTC)

It also needs pictures... I have removed some names which I assume are real IDs of users of your game. I will not allow actual names like that to be included. Could you please remove any others like that which are there. It just provokes trouble on the article, and possibly was the reason we are in this mess. If you are talking about the game creator, or people who might be know in the wider world then it's OK, but names which are local to the project will not be allowed... MrN MrN9000SouthParksmall.jpg 16:08, Mar 21

You mean the username that they use in the game is not allowed, or you think that some of the names are their real ones??--Asterius 16:11, 21 March 2009 (UTC)

You can't use either. Think about it this way... If there was something in your game about MrN9000 how would that make me feel? I would think... Hmm, I want to change that and mess with the guy who wrote the article. It provokes trouble. We are a parody site. Make up some names, but don't do anything which might provoke a response from someone else. MrN MrN9000SouthParksmall.jpg 16:18, Mar 21

Shit sorry, I didn't write anything offensive and I did tell them if they didn't like it I could change it.--Asterius 16:22, 21 March 2009 (UTC)

Hea, after my previous balls up you, you don't need to say sorry to me. Could I ask you a favour though please? Could you actually remove any and all references to "names"? OK, they may not be real names and the users may not even mind, but I don't know that. Also, it makes it look like it's OK to add names in that manor to other editors. I'm sure it will not affect your article much. You might want to check out our vanity policy sometime soon also... Oh, we have a really good guide about writing funny stuff, it's call HTBFANJS you might want to take a look at that sometime. Yea, the name sounds like an insult eh? It's not... What can I say. MrN MrN9000SouthParksmall.jpg 16:37, Mar 21
I edited all the 'names' except for the guy who created the game.--Asterius 16:41, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
I see that you changed them a little bit. Still kinda obvious who is who, but you are obviously not a fool and I think you understand why I am saying what I'm saying. If you think that this will not provoke trouble then I will trust you. You are walking a fine line though, so be careful... MrN MrN9000SouthParksmall.jpg 17:01, Mar 21
It seems the page has been hijacked again even though I put the work in progress sign up--Asterius 07:50, 22 March 2009 (UTC)
That's the risk you take editing a wiki, Asterius - anyone can edit it (until they're banned). The only way around that is to start the article in your userspace, and if anyone but you edits pages in your userspace, they can be banned. I've also banned a couple of people who wrote shit on thise pages. However, I think this page is perilously close to breaking the rules, and it's only because MrN seems to think it may be worthwhile that I didn't delete it outright. From what I can make out, the people who wrote shit about you seem to think that this page is offensive to them (name changes or no). If i find out that this is the case, I will delete it and ban your ass as well. Not trying to be a bastard here, just explaining it as I see it. Watch yourself, OK? --UU - natter UU Manhole.gif 13:58, Mar 22
I have made it clear to everyone that they can remove anything about themselves although now there is nothing about them. There was never anything offensive written but because they hate me for other reasons they find it funny to piss me off--Asterius 14:06, 22 March 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for getting involved UU. I have now deleted the article. You know what Asterius... You know the bit above where I said "Could I ask you a favour though please? Could you actually remove any and all references to 'names'? OK, they may not be real names and the users may not even mind, but I don't know that." Did you? No. Actually you changed the names only very slightly and it was still obvious that you were trying to use this to attack people. Even just by describing users actions was enough regardless of the name used. You said it would not provoke a response, but it did. Looking at many of the edits which were made to this page by other users, they were actually very good, and improved the article. Some of the edits were not so good, but you are never going to be able to control an article on a wiki in a way which appear to want to do. It was obvious to me that one of the users in particular who was editing the page well removed the controversial section, so clearly they were offended by it. What you should have done is listened to me more when I was trying to explain the problems with this page. There is clearly some conflict which you are a part of which originates from your site, and quite frankly, Uncyc does not give a monkeys about that. We are not your mum. You need to go back to your site and discuss this. Uncyclopedia can't be bothered dealing with it right now sorry. MrN MrN9000SouthParksmall.jpg 14:48, Mar 22
We're talking about a game of over 1800 users, all of them are happy except for about 5 or 6. This was always going to happen since they feel the right to bring their hatred for me personally and transfer it to Uncylopedia, sure some edits were good but the fact was a couple of spammers were ruining it for everyone. You're probably right ,next time i shouldn't mention a single name even if they were'nt of the spammers. Or maybe I should not even bother creating a page, I dunno.--Asterius 22:55, 22 March 2009 (UTC)
Hopefully next time a sysop from this site asks you to do something you do it. You were right on the edge of our UN:CM policy as it was, and I'm afraid it's not worth the fuss for us right now. Here is the deal... I noticed that you guys don't have a page at Wikipedia right now. If you can get them to accept a page about your game (and they keep it for over a week) then I will consider allowing this page on Uncyc. I do have access to the page still (though it's deleted) so if you can get Wikipedia to accept a page on ya, then I can let you have some of the useful parts back. I hope you will consider that fair... MrN MrN9000SouthParksmall.jpg 01:30, Mar 23
