TELETEXT would often have awkward adverts which would be painfully coloured, unsuitable for the content of the current page, make little sense at all and squish the text up into the corner of the screen.

All of these factors meant that when digital television was implemented, interactive text replaced Teletext as it was much more versatile. (back)
