How can atheists imagine this painting without a God? Granted, it's a religious painting to start with, but can they? Can they?

Atheism is rejection of belief in any sort of deity. Consequently, due to this obviously bitter and misguided mistrust, atheism is associated with scepticism, which calls into question whether money and lust are all that really matters in your sad lives, and whether there is nothing in the great beyond that calls out to us through voices in our heads which must be spirits because we can hear them in our heads. Obviously, it also contrasts heavily with theism, the acceptance of a God or multiple gods into your life which will allow you to love one another and is the only thing that will keep you from pillaging and killing everyone on the planet.

Today, the percentage of atheists in Western countries is increasing to the point where true faith appears to be in danger of extinction, although this is probably only because the true believers have already been saved from this evil earth. Some Eastern countries, on the other hand, have always been far more godless than the West, with their weird Buddhist claptrap and work ethic.

Distinctions[edit | edit source]

Agnosticism versus atheism[edit | edit source]

Atheism versus irreligion[edit | edit source]

Demographics[edit | edit source]

Generally, atheists are more prevalent amongst younger generations, higher-income groups, and scientists. Some claim that this is because of better access to education and information through state schooling and the Internet, which allow people to make their own decisions and in a more informed, scientific manner. This is, of course, rubbish.

Philosophy[edit | edit source]

Argument from evil[edit | edit source]

Burden of proof[edit | edit source]

Morality?[edit | edit source]

What about morality, indeed?
