Our brains act like radio receptors. When people do not listen to stations playing music, those radio waves are still floating around in the air, not being picked up by any receiver. Our brains capture the extra radio waves. Therefore, we hear the music and can’t get it out of our heads, at least until a crappier song comes along. Songs that get stuck in your head usually fit one of two categories: One: They are played on the radio often. Two: They are really crappy like your mom. UR MOM UR MOM!!

The radio signals therefore have no place to dissipate and become more powerful. They keep building until they are finally powerful enough to get through you thick skull and into your brain.
