Inspiration[edit | edit source]

In a recent interview with Katie Couric, βia§ told her that his album "Under the Weather" was based on his fears in life. Seeing as his first single, Washingtonians was based on his fear of Washington State, he wanted his next single, Senior Dream, to reflect his morbid phobia of old people. The following is a tract from the interview:

Katie: What inspired "Senior Dream", βia§?
βia§: Well, Katie, when I was young, I was trapped in a senior living center cafeteria. The sight of the many Old people gorging themselves with Oatmeal, prunes, and other Organic foods scarred me for life. When I regained a hold of myself, I began to wonder how these people operated during their normal lives. Seeing as they still view Russia as an evil empire, that Joseph Stalin is still alive & the biggest threat to the free world, that Lyndon Baines Johnson is still president, and that grocery prices are about 5 cents, I decided to compose a small ode to them.

Lyrics[edit | edit source]

You think I'm drive well
When I run the kids all down
Restrain from bathing
Because I’m afraid I’ll drown
I hate teenagers
Especially the ones that hang downtown

I once was happy
Until I lost my bird
You always helped me
With those dang-nab crosswords
Love Elvis Presley
But this generation thinks he’s absurd

Let's play golf alone tonight
No wheelchairs, just canes
Then I’ll bake until I die
You and I
We'll be old forever!

You help me
Accommodate
To the Senior Dream
Turn the massage chair on
I hate teens
Retire now
Oh no, anxiety attack!
Anxiety attack!

Talk myself
To sleep always at night
Hate the dark
Then I got a night-light
Meds on time
So I can stop
These panic attacks
These panic attacks!

Afraid of stairwells
Because I get vertigo
Love shuffle boarding
And winning at bingo
Is Russia still the
Enemy of the world?
I want prunes!

Let's watch news tonight
No wheelchairs, just canes
Then I’ll buy a tiny dog
You and I
We'll be old forever

You help me
Accommodate
To the Senior Dream
Turn the massage chair on
I hate teens
Retire now
Oh no, anxiety attack!
Anxiety attack!

Talk myself
To sleep always at night
Hate the dark
Then I got a night-light
Meds on time
So I can stop
These panic attacks
These panic attacks!

Listening to jazz all day
Eating crème brûlée
Live the senior dream tonight

Take all of my meds each day
Watch my hair turn gray
Live the senior dream tonight!

You help me
Accommodate
To the Senior Dream
Turn the massage chair on
I hate teens
Retire now
Oh no, anxiety attack!
Anxiety attack!

Talk myself
To sleep always at night
Hate the dark
Then I got a night-light
Meds on time
So I can stop
These panic attacks
These panic attacks!
