Here's a wacky thought... should we have a section for great links to other sites? I'm thinking primarily as an UnNews feature. It'd be a VFL, for that big white area where there isn't anything. This isn't something from Wikipedia, but my own idea about possibly once again increasing the scope and appeal of Uncyclopedia. Tell me what you guys think, just throwing out something wacky like the Uncyclopedic innovator that I am. If it's stupid, please tell me.--<<>> 03:28, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

Well, for UnNews, there could be daily links to news articles on other websites that are 'irreverent'. You know, the 'and finally' stories from News at Ten, like some parrot can say 'pseudoantidisestablishmentarianism', or a guy selling ice-cream in a snow storm. Stuff like that. I was serious... but now I don't think It'd look good. Perhaps at the gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooogle ads at the side could be replaced, seeming as google banned us form their results. Or we could get rid of Writer or n00b of the month and combine them with Uncyclopedian... I think I'll make a list:

• Replace Recent Pages
• "_____" Goooogle Ads
• Combine Writer, n00b and Uncyclopedian of the month and put links in freed-up space
• Put links where WOTD used to be
• ???
• Profit!

Keep this off the main page?

Perhaps this should reside somewhere other than on the main page, due to a couple of Google-related issues:

1. Google ads. Use a page on any external site instead of putting them on the main page here and we can remove the ads.
2. Google pagerank. It's likely that our previous issues with Google are based on them mistaking us for a link farm. Dumping a pile of random links like this on the main page could get us targetted again, if any of the linked sites turn out to be spam. Carlb 19:19, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
