Who was that?! Oh, a newcomer. Nevermind me...[edit source]

Luvvy's a bit paranoid and thinks you're out to get her... No, really she's just a bit unstable... But darn cute once you get to know her... Really, she is...

Hello Utopiana, and welcome to Uncyclopedia!

So what's this message all about? This is a semi-automated greet message that requires me to even thwack a few buttons to get this thing to appear on your page. I'm not lazy, just practical. And cute... Never to forget cute... Stop rambling, Luv! Ah, where was I? If you have been sent this it does mean that I have noticed your contributions, and think that you're going to do some good stuff here. So who am I? Oh, just some random person perfect being putting her nose in where it possibly might not be wanted...

Anyway, if you have not already, I SERIOUSLY recommend that you read the link below:

Probably the second most important thing for a newcomer is:

Additionally, the Uncyclopedian Adopt-a-Noob program is there to bring experienced editors straight to you. Simply put {{adoptme}} on your Userpage to join.

Feel lost?[edit source]

I noticed your contributions this far, and think you seem like a smarter than average newcomer. I thought I'd remind you that there are a lot of experienced Uncyclopedia editors just waiting to get a shot at helping you settle in. Recommended ways of getting help are mentioned in that fine semi-automated welcome message here above, and are considered to be things that could, and should be known before starting. I'm watching this page if you've got questions. We also have the so-called Adopt A N00b program here just to give newcomers a soft landing. You can also ask me about anything that comes to mind on my user page. Hi Luverly, thanks so much for your note. I have run forums before, so it is a case of working out how those skills transfer to this site (if at all!). Thanks for your offer of assistance, and it is great to meet you. Utopiana 00:46, 11 March 2008 (UTC) (Copied here for easier reference from my talk page)

Some basics[edit source]

Thanks for the thanks. I'm replying here in stead of the usual place which would have been my talk page, as I'm not sure you'd look up again. I think you could do with getting yourself set up with your own user space to get a place where you can practice formatting and writing, and to get really started. Have you gotten yourself familiarised with any of the links in the welcome message?

Ah, one thing that came to mind. When you comment about something new on someone's talk page, in stead of editing in a random spot in someone else's conversation, it is considered to be a good custom to start a new topic, like I just did. This page is on my watch list, so I can see if anyone has edited it, so you can reply here, too. Usually when you get a message on your user page, you reply there. So if you have something to say, it's ok to hit "edit" here and add a comment after this one. : in front of your comment indents the paragraph you're writing by one, :: by two and ::: by three and so on.

One.
Two.
Three and so on.

Now. Have you done anything else yet than hang out in the forums? There are a lot of things you can do on Uncyclopedia. The least of them isn't writing articles. The toolbox to the left contains a "Things to do" link. Look there for more info... :) -- Luverly - (Contribs) (Talk) Heart anim.gif Brainwashed to be British and then some.
