Aibohphobia[edit source]
I like it! I'd leave out the explanation as to why he had the accident in the end though - there are enough repetitions of the name to make it clear to the reader what happened, assuming they are thinking palindromically. I'd also suggest not starting the article by referring to him as Dr, but adding that just at the end, as it give the punch line a little more punch. Pup 10:36 25 Dec '11
- Also Greek prefix ab- means away from and ophi- means snake. If it were me I'd have it originally written as abophiphobia (relating it back to ouroboros, in that the snake is eating it's own tail, the dislike comes from a palindromes end being the same as the beginning). When his colleagues played with it they deliberately messed with the spelling, blah blah... Pup 10:42 25 Dec '11
- Heh, I can take no credit for it thus far - a random IP left it on the wiki in that state, it fell foul of a maintenance tag, and I swiped it with a view to taking it from "interesting idea" to "yet another UU rewrite because he doesn't have many of his bloody own"! You are therefore more than welcome to add your paw prints to it, and if I ever recover my sense of humour, I will have a hack at it myself. Glad someone besides me thinks it has potential though. --UU - natter 20:22, Dec 27
- While I have it in mind, Dr Andrew Noel-Leonard. Mail addressed to Dr A Noel-Leonard. (I just realised my own doctor in real life is Dr Noel Leon. Spooky, hey.) Pup 11:48 14 Jan '12
