At Uncyclopedia, writing articles is not a requirement, but it certainly is a fun and easy way to express your creativity. To write an article, it's recommended that you start it in your userspace (for example, User:Timsdad/Article about stuff) so you can edit it at your leisure. If you decide to create it in the cold world of mainspace, make sure it is in accordance with the policies laid out above, and if you're not done put the "Work-In-Progress" template - {{construction}} - onto it as well.
If you need help, ask me on my talk page, ask at the Dump, or ask an administrator on their talk page. Additionally, the Uncyclopedian Adopt-a-Noob program is there to bring experienced editors straight to you. Simply put {{adoptme}} on your Userpage to join. Again, welcome! --UU - natter 10:14, Jul 2
Those articles you're creating[edit source]
Did you read the stuff in the welcome message above? Particularly the bit about the vanity policies? Have a good look - those stubs you're creating with the construction tags on them have a whiff of vanity about them. --UU - natter 10:41, Jul 2
- Indeed I did read the Vanity article, and my articles are not against those guidelines. The characters are fictional. --– Preceding unsigned comment added by Timsdad (talk • contribs)
- Allow me to elaborate. You are promoting a series on Youtube. You are not adding comedy to our comedy wiki, you are adding true statements about an existing series on Youtube, likely because Wikipedia didn't allow you too. Nobody cares about your show, and so far, I have not seen a reason as to why your articles are supposed to be particularly funny. Let me restate our site's purpose for you. We exist to provide original comedic content. We do not exist to write biographies about characters from a Youtube show. That is not satire. That is not comedy. It is shameless self-promotion. Please re-read our policies without your own purposes in mind, and maybe you'll be able to better understand what we mean by "vanity." -RAHB 11:03, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
