At Uncyclopedia, writing articles is not a requirement, but it certainly is a fun and easy way to express your creativity. To write an article, it's recommended that you start it in your userspace (for example, User:OOMPACHEECHICHOO/Article about stuff) so you can edit it at your leisure. If you decide to create it in the cold world of mainspace, make sure it is in accordance with the policies laid out above, and if you're not done put the "Work-In-Progress" template - {{construction}} - onto it as well.
If the current colonization doesn't suit your fancy, then browse our rewrite and idea categories. We have lots of articles just sitting around for someone to improve, so don't be afraid - dive right in!
If you need help, ask me on my talk page, ask at the Dump, or ask an administrator on their talk page. Additionally, the Uncyclopedian Adopt-a-Noob program is there to bring experienced editors straight to you. Simply leave a message on an adopter's talkpage to join. Again, welcome! - Frosty dah snowguy contribs GUN PLEB 22:13, April 13, 2011 (UTC)
Boap[edit source]
I've restored it to a userspace page rather than to mainspace because, as it stands, it'll almost certainly be deleted rapidly again by another admin even in a case such as this one when I'm inclined to be lenient. This has certain advantages - the chief one being that it can remain in userspace for however long you need to complete it without being deleted/given a week to live under the ICU rules/buggered-about-with by other users. Also, despite the fact that I'm not really here (see the sabbatical notice on my userpage - I'm actually spending some time in the 14th Century, well away from the internet - I'd be happy to format it provided you add some more material because at present it'd still be a candidate for deletion due to its short length. A good place to begin would be by finding some images to go with it, either original or borrowed (which is a technical term we Uncyclopedians use when we mean "shamelessly stolen") from other sites, because images will both pad out a short article and inspire new ideas for the text. Good luck with it! Rabbi Techno kvetch Contribs FOXES 14:24, April 15, 2011 (UTC)
