Welcome![edit source]

Hello, Aidepolcycnu, and welcome to Uncyclopedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If not, the door's right over there... no, a little more to your left... yeah. Anyway, here are a few good links for nooblets:

If you read anything at all, make it the above two links. If you want to find out more about Uncyclopedia or need more help with something, try these:

Oi! The things that Uncyclopedia has to offer ... no limits, unlike wiki-that-cannot-be-named, with their fancy old "facts". Anyways, you told me that if I needed help with anything to ask you or go to the Village Dump. So, my question is, how do I edit an article so that it adds a picture? I had the same trouble with the other wiki-that-cannot-be-named, as well, and I really want to add pictures to an article. I'm thinking that if I do google Images, I can get a pretty good picture and put in an Uncyclopedia, or even the wiki-that-cannot-be-named. Please respond, and thank you for all of your help. --Aidepolcycnu 17:29, 17 August 2006 (UTC)Aidepolcycnu

Hi, Aidepolcycnu. If you want to put an image in an article, you first need to upload your pic. Look for the 'Upload file' link in the toolbox on the left hand side below the search box. On the upload file screen, click 'Browse' to find the pic on your computer (if it's on Google, save it onto your comp first) and give the file a name. Next, enter the image source (if you know it) and any comments, then use the drop down box to enter the copyright details. If you aren't sure, just select 'stolen and used for the good of Uncyclopedia'.
Once you have hit upload, the file should be uploaded to the site database. To use the pic in an article, paste the following code where you want the image to appear:

where 'myimage' is the image you have uploaded. Hit the preview button to check if it works. It should, but if it doesn't, I've probably told you something wrong. :) --Hindleyite | PL | GUN | WOTM | Image Review - Use it | Converse 17:47, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

Okay, so you said the following to me:

On the upload file screen, click 'Browse' to find the pic on your computer (if it's on Google, save it onto your comp first) and give the file a name.

Look, uh ... I hate to admit it, but I'm not as good with computers as I like to think I am, and, to be honest, my computer is about one thousand years old (or it at least acts like it - no joke) and I don't know what you mean by 'save it on your computer first', because when I try to copy the image on "Wordpad" or "Paint", the image doesn't show up. 15:41, 18 August 2006 (UTC)Aidepolcycnu

Don't worry. I don't think anybody is as good at computers as they say they are. Try this: get the picture on the internet site up on your screen. Right click on it and select 'save picture as' from the menu that appears. Then, choose where to save the pic and hit 'save'. The image should now be stored on your computer somewhere. I presume you're using Windows: it'll probably be set to 'My Pictures' by default. Hope this helps you out. -- Hindleyite | PL | GUN | WOTM | Image Review - Use it | Converse 16:01, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

"My Pictures"? Wait - is that the same as "My Images"? Because I saved the picture in question, and I don't know exactly where it could be. --Aidepolcycnu 18:29, 18 August 2006 (UTC)Aidepolcycnu

Keep looking for it: it'll be somewhere on your hard drive, probably in 'My Documents'. If you really can't find it, load up the internet page and save the image again. This time, note the folder which you are saving it to. Hope this is helpful. -- Hindleyite | PL | GUN | WOTM | Image Review - Use it | Converse 18:37, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
 • Phew*

Okay, I got the image on the computer. Now, how do I make turn it into something like this:

--Aidepolcycnu 18:49, 18 August 2006 (UTC)Aidepolcycnu

Next, you have to upload the image to the Uncyclopedia database, then you can use that code to put it in your article like the ones you have on your userpage. To do this, click 'upload file' on the left, follow the instructions I gave you earlier, and hopefully it should work. :) --Hindleyite | PL | GUN | WOTM | Image Review - Use it | Converse 18:57, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
Hoo! Well, let's see here ... y'know, that might seem pretty simple to you, but, honestly, I don't know how to work this damn thing as well as I used to think I could before. Maybe that's an exaggeration. Anyways, what I really want to do is take pictures from another wiki by going to the place where you edit the content and find where it says:

And put it on articles here. But see, I'll do that on Uncyclopedia images, and it'll work, but say if I go to Wikipedia and try to place its images on here, it won't let me. Do you know what I'm sayin'? -Aidepolcycnu 22:57, 18 August 2006 (UTC)Aidepolcycnu

Well, it is possible, I think, but it is recommended you really shouldn't. It's best to save it on your computer from another wiki then upload it to the Uncyclopedia pictures database so you can use it here. Don't worry about it, you'll get used to it all pretty soon, even if it takes you a while. -- Hindleyite | PL | GUN | WOTM | Image Review - Use it | Converse 10:04, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

Is it because of the whole copyrighting thing? Yeah, that's what I thought. Anyways, thanks for all of your help. I really appreciate it. --Aidepolcycnu 13:42, 19 August 2006 (UTC)Aidepolcycnu

No problem, glad to be of service -- Hindleyite 09:41, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

Hey, one more thing? Can you give me a link to those userboxes?Aidepolcycnu 20:31, 20 August 2006 (UTC)Aidepolcycnu

Sure, see here and here. -- Hindleyite 20:35, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
