Too late. As you were turning towards the front of the store with your gun to shoot at the Sheriff's men, the Deputy you somehow forgot was behind you empties his shotgun into your back. By the time you turn around, all you can see is your ventilated corpse in a spreading pool of blood and spent shotgun shells. Your body is then left for the Grues.
