MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA:
Today a red potato was sworn in as a new Senator in the state of Alabama. The potato’s only statement was “My name is R”. The potato ran on the Republican ticket as R-R. He won the primaries with a majority vote of 60 percent. One of his supporters who was interviewed explained, “He simply had the best chance of winning against his opponent since if you dig up dirt on him, all you will find is an empty hole, or possibly a potato plant growing food.”
