Candy Crush Saga is a Match-3 game popularized on Android, iPad, and Facebook. Match 3 games are exactly what the name says: you match 3 objects on your screen. But they cannot be ANYWHERE on your screen...noooo they have to be next to each other. And they can't be ANY old 3 objects: they have to be objects of the same color and/or shape.

Levels 1-5[edit | edit source]

The game literally plays itself. You cannot skip the tutorial, no matter how much you want to, and no matter how much better a move you see on the board than the one the computer came up with. You are literally shown the next move and forced to play it. You CANNOT lose, but you can get utterly bored. You want to move past the tutorial so you can be the one doing the playing.

Levels 5-10[edit | edit source]

The tutorial continues, gifting you with perks that, if you are wise, you will not use until a later level unless the game forces you to. You find the game MUCH too easy, and want to pass these levels so you can get to a level with some level of challenge to it. Even the new jellys that need to be removed by making a match over them do not seem hard. But to move to higher levels out of "Candytown", you need 3 friends help. Surely you have 3 friends who (still) play Candy Crush? To find them, you send a help request to ALL your Facebook friends and acquaintances (except the ones who have blocked requests from the app) in hope of finding just 3 who will move you to level 11.

Levels 11-15[edit | edit source]

Welcome to Candy Factory! Your first task is not just to match candies, but to bring ingredients down by matching candies UNDER them. Players who have never played a Match-3 game before may lose for the first time during one of these levels. Intermediate and advanced Match-3 players will still find these levels much too easy.
