"I don't know how I'm so locked up about this... just a moment ago I was able to think about words to describe it, but now I don't even know if it was a thing or not."

"I think it moved when I was about to touch it but now I'm not sure! We found it, but I'm not sure if it exists, so how do I know we did actually find it? We have evidence, but it's only circumstantial, and not very reliable even at that. Our research group... we went somewhere, I think, and we obviously had some goal in mind. We ended up somewhere else than we had intended, but even if this seems strange, it didn't seem so at the time. Everything was as clear as it could have been - even familiar - and yet I cannot say where we were, if we were. It was a place, I'm almost certain of it. There were things. And we were looking for the thing we eventually found - but I cannot say what it was, now, if it was something. Somewhere along the line something happened, and the group suddenly was not a research group any longer. Some of us were scientists, that's true, but a few were something I can't quite name. It has to do with science, and there are people involved. Maybe they were scientists as well. And were they a part of the research group? I would like to know that. They were when we started out."

"How did it come to this? Your guess is as good as mine, or even better. There is no way I can tell where we were, if we were anywhere, or if there were others besides me. And the things I mentioned earlier - were they things? I'm not sure. Are there things? There could be. I know I started out to find out about that thing, but was it a thing or not? All along? Possibly it wasn't, and everything I tried to do about it was misdirected - if that is possible."
