N.A.M.B.L.A[edit | edit source]
N.A.M.B.L.A is the acronym given to the North America Michael Barrett Lovers' Association. This is a fan club set up by American's and Canadian's in honour of their hero, minor British comedian Michael Barrett (stage name Mike Heat)
Barrett became a minor internet celebrity after his comedy exploits were posted on several websites. Best described as a piss-poor version of Lee Evans his most popular sketches include his freezing of 20 bottles of wine in a freezer, and burping in an unsuspecting women's face. His jokes aren't much better either (still funnier than Billy Conelly though):
- What's the best thing about having sex with twenty six year olds? There's twenty of them
- Two pedophiles are on a beach. One turns and says to the other, "hey you, get out of my sun"
- What should a pedophile do when he's finished having sex with a 6 year old girl? Turn her over and pretend she's a boy
As you can see he likes pedo jokes. Sigmund Freud proposed that this may be due to deep seated fears about being used by his pedo uncle (Brian Bickley) when he was a boy.
While the British public just laughed at Barrett the north americans loved his slapstick and he became a cult comedian. Several of Barrett's most dedicated fans decided to set up N.A.M.B.L.A as a way of spreading the word of Mike Heat just like an African immigrant spreading AIDS, and allowing his North American fans to stay in touch and share the latest news. A trip to Barrett's home town of Skipton, North Yorkshire, England is planned for August 2007 where they hope to meet their hero.
N.A.M.B.L.A should in no way be confused with NAMBLA (the north american boy lovers association) or nambla (the north american marlon brando look-a-likes association) although it is rumoured that many of Mike Heat's fans are also NAMBLA members.
