Area 54 was a foreboding, oddly lit building of unknown origin and purpose, located on the island of Manhattan in the 1970's. Many local residents had reported that it was a location of Extraterrestrial contact with Earthlings, including the storage of a UFO and an alien corpse, codenamed "Rubell". The government claimed that the sightings of such things as shiny seamless unitards, powdery white substances with psychoactive properties, and unearthly pulses of light and sound, were swamp gas from New Jersey.
