Though there are minor variations throughout each game in the series, the general objective remains the same: En route to completing given objectives that ensure continued peace and national security, you (playing the protagonist, Sam Fisher) must secretly fulfill your own strange desires, and hide some of your more abnormal traits, all the while maintaining a certain level of "cool".
