Drake and Josh was a sitcom that premiered on nikelodeon on January,2004.It shows the lives of two step brothers Drake and Josh.Josh is a chubby,shy and intelligent white teenager and Drake is an african-american teenager who has been to jail multiple times and drinks 40s every day for breakfast.Famous actors were in this show.One was Miranda Cosgrove who is known for her show I Carly.The other was the rapper Ludacris.He appeared in seasons 1,and 2 but they replaced him with some obscure actor guy named Drake Bell in the 3rd and 4th season because he had to concentrate on his rap career.The show currently has reruns on the n and on nikelodien.The show had a nice long run from 2003 to 2007.The show had various tv movies.One was "Drake and Josh,Really Big Shrimp" and "Merry Christmas Drake and Josh"

Drake is josh's stepbrother because his white mom was a white woman named Nancy Sullivan who previously had a relationship with a african american man and had a child with him whom she named Drake. She cut off the relationship because she was uncomfortable with interacial relatiosnhips.She decided to stick with her own race and got married to a white guy named Walter Nichols who was a tv weather guy.He already had a son named Josh and that is how drake and josh became stepbrothers.Drake can be described as a lazy teenager who gets bad grades in school,is good with girls(all black dudes are good with girls) and is good at playing the guitar.Jimmy Hendrix is his idol.
He even has an afro like him.Josh on the other hand is a gentle but dorky fat teengager.He gets good grades in school and is well behaved.Drake often gets him into trouble.Josh often tries to relate to Drake by listening to rap music,rapping himself in front of drake and using "slang" language.Drake thinks these attempts are humorous but likes Josh because he is a "funny white kid".Both Drake and Josh are often messed with and teased by thier little sister Miranda Cosgrove.She blames them for bad things she did and rarely gets into trouble herself.She just puts the blame on drake and josh.She dosent prank Drake as much because she's convinced black people are violent and drake will kill her with his 45. pistol if she "fucks with him" too much.Drake and Josh have too loving parents but thier mom is strickter than thier father.Thier father is a so called proffesional tv weather guy that got hired simply because he was white.He is a lame dad but often gives helpful advice to his children,drake,josh and miranda cosgrove.Throughout the show, drake and josh go on many adventures,drinking 40s together,going to the movies,and chilling in thier 6-4 impala with hydrolics.The show also discusses issues with school,work and the problems miranda gives drake and josh
Thier mother is a strong woman who takes care of the house,doing what women are supposed to do such as wash clothes,fix dinner and changing drake josh's and miranda's diapers.She loves her children and dosent want them to grow up.She wants them to stay babies forever.Thats why all her children still wear diapers.miranda is 9 but come on two 16 year olds???.The creater of the show Dan Schnieder,admits the show was a blatant clone of a previous show called Kenan and Kel that was on nikelodeon in 1994. Everything in drake and josh was relativly the same as kenan and kel,the jokes,racial sterotypes,the concept of a fat guy and a skinny guy as friends/family. and the general abbot and costello model of the characters.

Therare other important characters in the show.Some are listed below:
Helen Ophelia Duboise- is a manager of the movie theater who hired Drake and Josh as workers.She often is hard on Josh despite him being a hard-worker.She likes Drake simply because he is black like her.He literally does nothing at work but get high smoking joints and gives all his work to Josh. She also has a crush on drake because she loves young black man.This is probably because she was divorced by an abusive husband who drained money in her bank accout on faulty real estate investments and wants a man far younger than her to take advantage of.
"Crazy" Steve-He is an employee at the movie theater that works with drake and josh.He has emotional outbursts . He can be cured by singing a beatles song called "lucy in the sky with diamonds" to him or giving him milk. Sometimes, Drake gets Crazy steve high with him to mellow him out.
Mindy Crenshaw-Josh's girlfriend who is smarter than him.She is smarter than the physist Steven King and beats him at chess while playing with him on weekends.
Gavin Mitchell- another employee at the movie theater where Drake and Josh work.He is a redneck who wears a mullet and drinks 14 beers an hour at his shift.His work space is covered with empty beer cans.He works as a cable guy and gets drake and josh free cable if they do his work for him.
There are other characters in the show but they arent really important.They appear more than once or twice throughout the show but they serve no important function.They are just not worth mentioning.
