Abuse Of The Lulz is an RPG parody that spans two games, one being a "Prologue" of sorts. It was inspired by Spoonybard's Final Fallacy, but unlike that game, is actually planning to be finished (or is it? Who the hell knows???).

Gameplay[edit | edit source]

The two games have very different gameplay, the first game (The Prologue), was made using RPG Maker 2000, while the sequel was made with RPG Maker 2003.

Juddy's Adventure[edit | edit source]

Juddy's Adventure runs on the RPG Maker 2000 engine, and therefore contains a first-person-view battle system. This game will something of a test demo to show what the full game will be like.

Abuse Of The Lulz - In These Hands[edit | edit source]

Uses the RPG Maker 2003 system, but the mechanics of the game are still being decided upon. Players control the lovable Rogue Jeremy as he steals all manner of shit from Melbourne, but gets caught up in a massive terrorist conspiracy.

Main Characters[edit | edit source]

Jeremy

The main character of Abuse Of The Lulz. After an attack on his hometown by strange terrorists with magical powers, Jeremy travels to Melbourne to visit his friends John and Juddy whose family were abducted in the attack; John is under Government protection in Melbourne and Justin has joined a local Resistance group. After Justin's small hideout is almost bombed by "terrorists", Jeremy and Justin discover they will soon gain magic powers and end up dragging themselves and their friends into a massive conspiracy. Jeremy is of the Wind element, and has a variety of useful theivery techniques and high speed stats, and the ability to dual-wield despite being right-handed. Jeremy gets a class upgrade halfway through the game.

Brandon

A marksman, Brandon is an expert with firearms. After his parents were abducted he began working as a soldier for the Resistance. Brandon is of the Balance element and has very few weaknesses. He mainly equips guns. Despite starting out as a ranged attacker, subtle hints have been dropped that Brandon may be the only character capable of wielding the most powerful sword: the Lightbrand.

Shan

A silent, mysterious girl who used to go to the same school as Jeremy, Justin, Jason, Brandon, and John. Jeremy and John run into her not long after gaining magical powers, and give them to her in the process. Shan joins up with them as her family has been abducted too. She has a crush on Brandon that isn't requited. Shan is of the Light element and mainly attacks with magic, and she can also heal (although not as good as John/Amelia can). Shan also gets a class upgrade halfway through the game.

Juddy

Main Article - Justin Lupo

Juddy is an agent for the Resistance, having joined not too long after his family was kidnapped. He is of the Fire element. In battle, Juddy mainly wields large swords, shields, and certain guns. Juddy has a large skill set which allows him to use certain 'cannon' beam attacks and drain HP/MP, during a sidequest the player can learn of Juddy's past and unlock new variations of the Death Cannon, such as the "UnDeath Cannon" which is capable of attacking undead enemies. Justin gets a class upgrade halfway through the game.

John

Jeremy's sidekick of sorts. Although reluctant to join the fight at first, he changes his mind when he realises what's at stake. John focuses mainly on healing and buffing the party. John's role in combat is very similar to Ness from Earthbound, as he learns healing spells and can equip cricket bats, a variation of Ness's baseball bats.

Josh

Jeremy's cousin, and a Rogue. He directly attacks the Bass Strait base of the Australian government, having found out they were part of the abduction of his parents, and joins forces with Jeremy's team. Josh has high defence due to being a skateboarder. Josh doesn't excel in any one stat but learns skills at an extremely fast rate, making him a good choice for speedrunners. Josh is of the Fire element.

Michael

Michael is Jeremy's best pal and fights using his fists. He is of the Light element. Michael has strong Strength stats and also gets a class upgrade that turns him into a Master; giving him the ability to wield powerful swords.

Jason

Jason is a self-made "Paladin" who excels at healing magic and physical combat. His skill set is useful too. He joins Jeremy under orders from a mysterious man named Mr. X (who is rumored to like tacos). Jason is of the Wind element.

Marloes

An optional party member, Marloes is a somewhat insane, slightly crazy Dutch assassin girl who kidnaps the party and forces them to help her reclaim her organisation, which is undergoing a civil war. She is then ordered by the head of the assassin group to assist Jeremy and his friends to help save the world. She often flirts with the male characters (and even Shan). Marloes is of the Water element.

Ciprian

Another optional party member, Ciprian is a Romanian slayer of monsters and an unwilling mercenary for Anonymous, who kidnapped his girlfriend so he could do their bidding. After being forced to plant a chip in Justin's body, Ciprian breaks away from Anonymous after they release his girlfriend. He meets the party after saving her, provided they visit Romania, and decides to assist the party after he gets magifused upon contact with them. He holds a great deal of hatred towards Anonymous. Ciprian is of the Thunder element.

Main Character Arguments[edit | edit source]

There has been countless Flame Wars about who is the central character of Abuse Of The Lulz, many people say that Jeremy is, but really, Jeremy is simply the first character you control, and the POV is switched around numerous times throughout the game, in addition, John has to convince Jeremy to help him attack the Terrorist Base.

Jeremy takes less of a role in the sequels apparently, or so I heard.

When asked about these arguments, Jeremy, creator of the series, replied: "NOBODY CARES!!!! This whole series was designed as a god dammed PARODY, and I find it extremely laughable when these no-life nerds start arguing about who is the main character, well here is the answer: THE MAIN CHARACTER IS JUSTIN'S PET DOG, THERE, HAPPY!?"

The nerds then took this 'Word Of God' literate and somehow it was published in the Ultimania that Justin's Pet Dog is the main character, now, anybody who disagrees with this shall be ruthlessly flamed by the nerds, some say that this resembles the countless wars about FFX-2 being in the same universe as FFVII, BECAUSE THE FUCKING ULTIMANIA SAYS SO!.
