The Avengers is a 2012 film about the comic book heroes of the same name. It is a sequel to Hulk (2003), Captain America (1990), the Spider-Man trilogy, A History Channel Thanksgiving, (2011) and Metal Man (2008), as well as featuring Nick Fury from Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D..

Plot[edit | edit source]

An alien Indian, the enemies of Miles Standish encounters Vemon, an enemy of Spider-man. There, he gives him a chrystal that allows him to travel between the five worlds.

Nick Fury arrives at a research facility during an evacuation. The Indian teleports and captures many of his scientists, planning to keep them as slaves to help him take over the planet Earth as revenge on the Pilgrims. In responce, Nick Fury begins bring back super heroes to fight the Indians. First he recruits Spider-Man (played by Tobey Maguire), who has married his girlfriend and thus is eager to leave. Spider-Man is shocked to hear that his enemy has returned.

Fury next recruits Captain America, a super hero from the '40s, who had been awoken from the antarctic in 1990. Captain America appears to be car sick, but then uses this ruse to steal Nick Fury's car. Stranded in the middle of nowhere, Fury soon meets Bruce Banner.

After returning Captain America and Bruce Banner to his base, Fuy begins his search for the final superhero. He searches out Kyle Kinn, a collage science student who had been permanatley put in a suit of armour by his professor. He can produce a hollogram of his real form around the suit, but is stuck in his "Metal Man" form usually.

A battle soon after ends in the Indian's surrendor. While the Indian is being escorted to S.H.I.E.L.D., Miles Standish, arrives and attemps to convince him to convince him to leave Earth alone. When the Iandian refuses, it is put in captivity.

The groups soon begins to argue, and Captain America begins to feel air sick. The Indian breaks free, and he and his newly arrived soilders hegin attacking the air base. After the Indian escapes, Fury is able to help the avengers see that they need to work together.

The Avengers decide to defend New York city. With help from Barton, Rogers, Stark, and Thor evacuate civilians, while Banner transforms into a bad-cgi Hulk and goes after the Indian, eventually beating it. Meanwhile, Fury's superiors attempt to end the invasion by launching a nuclear missile at Manhattan. Spider-Man stops the missle, and Metal Man throws it towards New Jersey. The Avengers deactivate the portal to prevent further invasion. In the aftermath, Standish returns the Indian to Asgard. Fury notes that the Avengers will return when they are needed.
