J.R.R. Tolkien accidentally founded a religion. He did not attend this. Teh Church of Tolkien, know more popularly as Tolkienism,is a religion in which Tolkien's mythology purports to describe the very ancient history of Earth, then known as Arda. Its holy books are: The Lord of the Rings; The Hobbit; The Silmarillion; and The Book of Lost Tales. THese are from drafts that are dated to around 5000 BC. As discussed in the War of the Ring, Tolkien translated the documents from a copy of teh Red Book.
