Uncyclopedia:Welcoming Committee/FAQs
Revert/Rollback[edit source]
Q: An article's been vandalized / crapified. Can you fix it?
A: Yes, but anyone can roll back changes, it just takes a few more steps.
- Go to the article you want to fix.
- Press the history tab
- Click on one of the dates in the list (e.g. 12:45, 26 January 2006)
- If that's not the update you want to revert to, hit the ←Older revision | Newer revision→ navigation at the top to find the one you want to restore.
- Once you've found the "good" version, press the edit tab. You'll see a warning that says: WARNING: You are editing an out-of-date revision of this page. If you save it, any changes made since this revision will be lost.
- Go to the bottom of the edit box, enter something like "revert" or "fix vandalism" in the Summary box, and press "Save page". That old version will become the current version.
Time & Date Stamps[edit source]
Q: How do you do a time/date stamp, signature, ICU tag?
A: Signing is easy. Just type four tildes ~~~~ after your message, or the use the "sign" button () above the edit box. When the message is saved, your name and date is stamped in their place.
- Do five tildes ~~~~~ to insert a date only (e.g. 22:03, 10 February 2006 (UTC)).
- To mark an article No Redeeming Value (ICU): {{ICU|~~~~~}}
- To mark an article Work In Progress (WIP): {{WIP|~~~~~}}
Signature[edit source]
Q: How can I set a long signature with my rank and awards?
- Create a subpage for your signature. Examples: User:Todd_Lyons/sig | User:Mhaille/sig
- Add the appropriate award abbreviations and links. A complete list with details of how to add them can be found here.
- Go to your preferences page, and in the "nickname" box add {{nosubst|User:yourname/sig}}. Tick the "Raw signatures (without automatic link)" box, and you're done! Use the 4-tildes or signature button () to use your saved signature.
MUN? GUN? KUN?[edit source]
Q: What's all the GUN, KUN, MUN about anyway?
A: The Order of Uncyclopedia says a bit about the rank system and lists members in the different tiers (except MUN, because that's every registered user). More details about awards and their use in sigs is at Uncyclopedia:Awards, Decorations and Honours. Higher ranks are tied to higher awards. The only rank you can't "win" is officer (sysop).
