Portishead[edit source]

I've been lurking for long enough. This was my first piece and I want it to be brutalised. Take me now.

Humour: 8 Pretty funny for a first piece. You have a good sense of the creativity and subtlety needed for good humour writing. The intro sets up the article well, and I especially liked "Chapel-en-le-Frith live," "ugly virgins with overpowered computers," the 107-year-old fan, and Children in Need incurring a loss. I don't have much to suggest, except stay away from Uncyclopedia cliches such as kitten huffing. Most of your digressions are funny, but be careful you don't detract from the humour by including nonfunny digressions (such as Bert Gobbins has made a number of cameo appearances...unless I just don't get it).
Concept: 7 You should include a link to Wikipedia so that people who aren't familiar with the band can get some of the jokes (such as the names of albums). Just put the word Wikipedia in double curly quotes somewhere on the page. Also you might want to put the word British in double curly quotes at the top so people realize it's British humour.
Prose and formatting: 9 Formatted properly, though it could ise a few more links. Nice page set-up.
Images: 7 The black and white works well, and the images suit the article. You might want to add a couple more.
Miscellaneous: 7 I want to hear more about the album that hasn't been released yet.
Final Score: 38 Wish I could brutalize it, but actually it's a lot funnier than most stuff on this web site.
