Wouldn't it be more key to make the gag about the recent French loss due to that head-butt confrontation? I don't know enough about the details to do much with that myself, but you see what I mean. -- Lenoxus 20:51, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

My joke is that the French embrace defeat and retreating, and have a general disdain for victory seeing it as not honorable. I originally planned to mention the Zidane incident, but the loss to the Brits for the 2012 Olympiad and Chirac's infamous quote on English cuisine (that some claimed was the reason the IOC voted like it did), worked better for my sense of humor.
