An Australian python ate an entire crocodile today, despite having a gastric band fitted in 2010. The 10ft monster had the band fitted after a lifelong battle with weight, and the latest setback brings into question the controversial procedure.
Surgeon and gastric band advocate Dr. Stretch rejected the criticism, arguing that diet is about balance.
"I wouldn't advocate having a diet exclusively of recently strangled croc," he said, "but there's no harm in treating yourself occasionally."
The python also defended itself saying the protein rich reptile had little impact on her low-carb diet.
"I entered it into MyFitnessPal and the calorific balance was only moderately over the daily target when you take into account the five hour activity of 'fighting crocodile'", she told us.
