Las Vegas, NV -- In the first round of tournament play at the World Series of Poker, professional Hold'em player Johnny Chan definitively disproved Lady Gaga's assertion that she has an unreadable poker face.
"It really wasn't that hard," explains Chan, recounting the event.
In the round in question, Gaga checked on the pre-flop round of betting. The flop was A-8-2; Chan bet, and Gaga raised.
"She's a pretty aggressive player, so I didn't think she would have checked an ace. Maybe she'd hit two pair, but she had 'semi-bluff' written all over her face. I put her at K-2 unsuited, betting on a pair of ducks," says Chan.
Gaga and Chan played to the conclusion of the round, at which point Gaga flipped over her cards to reveal that she was, indeed, holding an unsuited king and two. Chan won the round with three 8s, and Gaga was eliminated from play.
"She probably shouldn't have held 'em like they do in Texas plays," remarks Chan.
