You hit the weird "cat button" that you didn't notice was on your control panel earlier. This button opens a box that contains a weird little cat-like creature, and she immediately goes up on deck and devours all of the Olulas.

Eventually she's eaten all of them up, but instead of jumping into the sea and eating fish, she goes straight for you. You try to fight back, but have zero fucking chance against this thing for some reason.
