"So you want to be normal, huh?" he says. "I'm a little surprised, you really seemed to be enjoying the whole psycho-cannibal thing, but okay."

Wait, why did I say I want to be normal? It doesn't make any sense! It's not like I care about anyone or...my responsibilities anymore...or....

Zzzzzzzzz

When I wake up, I-EW!

Is that Aunt Annie?! Why's she lying cut open like that? And is that her family! EWEWEWEWEWEW!

What the hell just...oh, I remember now. That Eldritch guy did something to her brain and she killed everyone, and then I killed her and ate her because I was in crazy-hell at the time.

Ah well, if he hadn't fucked up Aunt Annie like that, I wouldn't have become normal again, so there's that.

Anyway, time to call the police. Ah, so they don't believe my story? Big surprise. The court-appointed shrink says I'm being honest, though, so I'll just cop an insanity plea for this whole mess.

Ah, my nice little ward. It's clean and white and my shrink visits me everyday. Now all I need to do is negotiate the return of my Xbox. Since I'm not in hell anymore, I have no reason to hurt anybody. It's only a matter of time before I'm considered stable enough to get my video games back.

But I do think of Eldritch at times. Sure, he was a vicious, man-eating monster who would have killed me too if I hadn't gone insane, but he did save me in more ways than one. He deserves a thank you note.

And one day, he does slither into the institution, as can be heard by that horrible horrible glob-globbing sound.

He passes me a cellphone though the food tray at my door.

"I didn't take this from anyone in the building, so you're cool, alright?" says the message on the screen.

"I see, Eldritch. And thank you...for everything."' I type in, and pass the phone back.

"Oh, yeah, that's cool. So, I guess this is goodbye, then."

"Yeah, it is. So, what are you going to do now?"

"Try to find my homeworld. It's what I was doing when I ran into you. And don't worry, I'm not going to hunt down or eat anyone you know."

"I see. Good luck, Eldritch."

"Yeah, okay. Goodbye."

I give him back the phone without typing in anything, and he slithers away again, and I can catch just a whiff of his abominable stench as he leaves.

He used to be a handsome guy. But now that I'm not a demented, crazy bitch anymore, he isn't.

I wonder what would've happened if I had fully embraced the life I had with him. If I had fully jumped into my new crazy life in hell, instead of turning away from it?

I guess I'll never know.
