Stuff[edit source]
Hi, I just dumped the images in so's not to forget - they weren't actually supposed to be the series mentioned. I'll cook up some more today. -- Style Guide 07:45, 2 October 2008 (UTC)
- I left your original text as a comment in case you want to keep it rather than mine. I'd like to make the sign out of stone though, and with pictures rather than text. I'll add it tomorrow so you can judge. A bronze sign is no problem either - only the inscription might be, unless you have some ideas. -- Style Guide 20:06, 2 October 2008 (UTC)
- I took the liberty of adding my own stone tablet and changed the text accordingly. The third Middle Ages sign will be to the right. Change back if you think there's too much. -- Style Guide 08:08, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
- All images are more or less OK I think, except for the cave entrance sign, which is a time warp joke - not consistent with the rest. Should we drop that one? -- Style Guide 05:52, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
- Ok, how about that: Can you create an image of a tree trunk with a "cave" sign carved into it? And it should contain some sort of anachronism like a knife and fork sign, to keep the joke. Just an idea. NaturalBornKieler (talk) 07:35, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
- How about a sign with a fire crossed out? It would be a mystery to archaeologists since it dates back to the time when the productive use of fire hadn't been invented yet? If you find a sharper joke for this one I guess it would be OK for the prehistoric section. -- Style Guide 09:14, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
- No, let's drop the cave bit (unless we come up with something that really makes us laugh). Reason: stuff overlaps, article needs to be rewritten altogether if we start with it. Vikings are warned with that stone tablet, looks ancient enough. Galilei bit is about the red cross, etc. Maybe concentrate on the Baroque section? It gives a chance to make up some complicated nonsensical signs. -- Style Guide 09:23, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
- I'll think about that tonight. Feel free to kick the cave sign out in the meantime. NaturalBornKieler (talk) 11:36, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
