Good Morning My Lord Famine, Yes indeed that is much more like i was looking for, thank you. Any chimp can cut and paste, as I think i demonstrated, so this is far supeior. However I was thinking initially of having it display whatever the main page featured article was at the time but without it displaying a "redirected from sign".--Usewho'sname? 08:21, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
- It is possible to get the featured article title (or rather, the most recent addition to Category:Featured), but not possible to redirect or transclude {{}} it:
<DynamicPageList> category=Featured order=descending count=1 ordermethod=categoryadd mode=inline </DynamicPageList>
- What you'll probably have to do is update it each time. Or, make User:Rcmurphy do it, or trick him into doing it. If you can convince him to make Template:Featuredarticle/link which would contain only the plain text of the title of the current featured article, eg
Citizen Kong
, then you could transclude it automatically a-la:{{:{{Featuredarticle/link}}}}
. You could tell him that making Template:Featuredarticle/link would automate some services or other, or some crap ^_^. Like, people could link to the current featured article in their pages simply by using[[{{Featuredarticle/link}}|today's featured article]]
. He could even use the code in the template itself for the read more link. He might buy it ^_^. --Splaka 08:47, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
Title typo[edit source]
It's spelled "plagiarism". Thing is, I'd say this one's funnier than that one, but that's just me. Lenoxus 19:13, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
- Wait, now they're identical, so... never mind?
