In 2006, the University of Virginia named a 16,000 seat arena in his honor after Emenem donated $35 million to the school with the stipulation that it be used exclusively for masses celebrated by visiting popes, rock music, and re-enactments of famous naval battles of the revolutionary war. (The architects, S. Rapallo & Sons, made frequent trips to Rome during construction in order to understand how the Colosseum was made water-tight for naval battle simulations in ancient times).
