Talk:Biggleswade F.C.
Pssst -- removed the Biggleswade crest added by MadMax. Max, the article already has a Biggleswade crest, down below. ----OEJ 01:58, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
From Pee Review[edit source]
I have no idear why I wrote this. Uncyc already has plenty of articles on British football clubs. But I am curious how many boners I pulled in mixing up real and pretend football slang...and whether a footy fan would find anything in the article remotely funny. Thanks... ----OEJ 17:45, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
Humour: | 8 | Really liked this, I think a few more obscure facts about the teams early years would make it perfect, you could contrast the players Salaries of today with those in 1911, when the balls were made of concrete, and everyone was paid in potatoes. |
Concept: | 8 | Although there are a quite a lot of football team articles the inventive use of jargon makes this one stand out. You could add a few lines about the after match interviews with the players, where they say nothing of any intrest beyond meaningless cliches. Maybe a small section on football hooliganism as well. |
Prose and formatting: | 9 | Well written. |
Images: | 7 | Images complement the text quite well. |
Miscellaneous: | 8 | Don't know what this is for. |
Final Score: | 40 | Overall it just needs a little bit more added to it. |

OK, thanks very much Winstanley. The player interview idea is great, and the specifics about concrete balls and potato salaries are good too. The vote of confidence in the jargon is a help, I was kind of worried it was too off-the-wall. Thanks again! ----OEJ 14:26, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
Umm...which club is this meant to be based on or is it completely made up? Tidus mi2 23:08, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
- The club is fictional. The article layout is loosely based on Wickedpedia's article on the Arsenal; the names Hugh Chubman and Bernie Whee imitate Aresenal managers Herbert Chapman and Bertie Mee. But other than that it's all a load of bollocks. It's a parody of football club articles and not a parody of any particular club. ----OEJ 01:45, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
