Thanks! but the patient has now stabilized. The original article is retained, in the section called History, but about half its gassiness is gone. I have added some real-world stuff at the end from memory, but am 800 miles away and do not intend, even temporarily, to remedy that situation. The help it needs right now is from people in the vicinity who might be able to contribute something with hooks to current events in Ann Arbor.

Specific missing topics, which I might eventually be able to research and provide:

• An essay on how the "truckers and shit-kickers" from Kentucky morphed into communitarians and how Ann Arbor acquired its orthodoxy of thought.
• A treatment, more extensive than the link in See also, about the essential link between Ann Arbor and marijuana.
