“Hmm... I think this logo is similar to the logo of another broadcaster...”

– Anyone on Record logo

RecopyTV RecordTV is a well-known broadcaster in Brazil that copies Globo. What Globo did, Record will do too!

Currently, Record belongs to the Igreja Universal, an extremely famous church network in Brazil (Yes, you read that right).

History[edit | edit source]

1950s[edit | edit source]

Record was founded in the 1950s (yes, when your grandfather was still young). At that time, since TV Globo didn't yet exist, Record was content to copy the other few television stations that existed in Brazil at that time.

Some time after its founding, Record realized that almost everyone noticed it was blatantly copying other networks and people started to stop watching Record. Therefore, it decided to bring in international celebrities to sing on Record, celebrities who are no longer as well-known as they once were.

1960s-1970s[edit | edit source]

The big dream that RecordTV has had since the 60s

In the 1960s, TV Globo emerged. Now, Record finally had a stable source to copy.

1980s-1990s[edit | edit source]

At that time, a man named Edir Macedo, owner of the aforementioned Igreja Universal, decided to buy Record, precisely to make more money, after hearing that it was for sale.

2000s[edit | edit source]

At the beginning of the decade, an idiotic presenter on RecordTV claimed that Yu-Gi-Oh cards were the work of the Devil, causing millions of Brazilian parents to burn their children's cards.

In 2007, Grupo Record decided to create a branch of RecordTV, thus founding Record News, a boring news channel.

2010s-Present Day[edit | edit source]

There was a change in the logo, some programs ended, and the programming changed a bit, but apart from that, Record hasn't changed a damn thing.
