Kiafication

Kiafication is a satirical term describing the gradual transformation of once-iconic, enthusiast-respected brands into bland, bloated, mass-market imitations resembling the aesthetic and character of generic vehicles from companies like Kia Motors. The term captures the phenomenon of legendary companies abandoning their original identities in a desperate attempt to chase trends, tech gimmicks, and new consumer markets.

While Kiafication can affect many industries and brands, its most infamous and tragic example is the Kiafication of BMW, where the Bavarian automaker — once revered for building precise, driver-focused machines — mutated into a producer of oversized grilles, split headlights, touchscreen fetishism, and soulless electric appliances.
