Otherwise known as gallows humor according to Wikipedia, but how do they know anything?

Examples[edit | edit source]

  • Blood. Haha. More blood. Haha. Wow, so fun. I do wonder why some people enjoy it.

History[edit | edit source]

Once upon a time, there was people who were incapable of bleeding or dying or any sort of thing like that. Then one day some random bloke accidentally chopped off his hand and a bunch of red came out. So then being the perfectly sensible person the guy was he called it blood instead of getting medical attention, but I suppose that there wasn't any existing. But he didn't say it like you normally would and instead pronounced it with an "oo" sound because it was sort of oozing out or something. Say it with me, stranger: blOOd. Yeah, sounds funny doesn't it? Say it again: "blOOd". One more time! "blOOd". I can't hear you...--ok, maybe that's enough. This isn't an English learning app like the language app that ominously kills people. But I digress. So this guy--let's call him Nigel--named it "blood". But it sounded so funny and weird that he started laughing uncontrollably. Hence, this is how dark humor came to be. Nowadays, it is a little more complicated than that, but you get the general idea.
