Compass

A Compass is the transition instrument between the sundial and the clock, but for some reason it is used today as a navigational device. By pure coincidence, the totally useless defunct device manages to help people get to where they need to go, even though it's not even pointing to any particular direction functionally. Stephen Hawking once said, "It is only a matter of time before some stupid human goes missing in the Indian Ocean and relies on another one of these ancient devices and later realizes it's just sundial-clock, later crying himself to death because he's screwed." Donald Trump, a (self declared) expert on real and fake news, slams Hawking's claims that the fact holding the compass is simply just a sundial-clock is "fake news". "For many years, people, great people and tremendous travelers like Marco Columbus and Christopher Polo, were using the compass," Trump said, "Total fake news."

A first person perspective of a poor soul who ended up in an era in which blimps were the only form of transportation. For context, this guy was a car fanatic. Legend says it he is in this terrible era to this very day...

Misconceptions about the compass[edit | edit source]

Many people believe that the letters on the compass represent the four cardinal directions of North, South, East and West. This is a common misconception, as the real significance of these letters are unknown, rather they represent hidden secrets of the time and space of the universe that only the greatest minds could ever understand, and it was those intelligent beings who invented the compass. This sundial-clock was not only a time-telling device, it also manipulates time when used incorrectly. For example, when Roald Amundsen disappeared in the Barents Sea, many speculated that he may have drowned. But that is not true; the compass he was using took him back to the Stone Age on a different planet in a parallel universe where the world was ruled by mutant snails. The story Amelia Airheart probably crashing somewhere in Oceania is only a coverup of the real story that the compass she was using took her 100,000 years into the future and got eaten alive by a bunch of aliens. The history of the compass is very vague, as written accounts of it were liquidated a millennium ago. Perhaps these intelligent peoples wanted to erase this compass' legacy by wiping it from the pages of history and inventing its successor, the clock.

The coverup[edit | edit source]

The compasses were first sold on the black markets in the Renaissance when they were discovered deep underground in the mountains of Holland. Once the components of the compass were analyzed and the kickoff of the Industrial Revolution, many corporations started making their profits off selling compasses. They advertised them as "navigational devices," and to this very day these very dangerous sundial-clocks are being sold to gullible consumers who want to travel. Beware.
