I'm afraid the world sigs is very complicated and the time set up you've got won't work (see the last signature). The best way to have a custom sig is go to "my preferences" (near your username and "my talk" and check "custom" sig and input code into that bar. You can either input just your custom sig and then sign with four tildes (~~~~) as normal, or you can put in some special time codes and formatting (like I do) and then only sign with three tildes. Here's the code I have in mine: - {{SUBST:User:YesTimeToEdit/time2|{{subst:CURRENTTIME}} {{subst:CURRENTDAY}} {{subst:CURRENTMONTHNAME}} {{subst:CURRENTYEAR}}}} {{SUBST:nosubst|User:YesTimeToEdit/sig12}} which produces: - [23:59 6 August 2010] TheYetTalk. For more help on sig editing see here and for my guide to general formatting see here. I'm not sure exactly what level you're at, as regards formatting, so I hope that was of some help. - [23:59 6 August 2010] TheYetTalk

Arrgh. This'll work fine until I get picky and decide to change my signature for the third fourth yet again. Thanks for the help on this, Yettie. Also, I've been using wiki formatting anonymously for the past few years, so I'm alright with using it haha. Thanks again. Thatdamnedfollowspot Riot here. 00:14, August 7, 2010 (UTC)
Okay, cool. But how does the time thing work? My testing ground did not affirm its workingness. - [00:15 7 August 2010] TheYetTalk
Not quite sure what you mean by "its workingness," but everything seems to check out. Leutnant Herr Thatdamnedfollowspot
What I mean is your sig does not have a date attached to it. And a date that does not change once you've posted. - [00:41 7 August 2010] TheYetTalk
Ah. The problems I'm having with the time is that it will only display the time that I last edited User:Thatdamnedfollowspot/sig, not the time of the post. Should I just copy what's in that page into Special:Preferences, or can I leave it the way it is (currently displaying {{Subst:Nosubst|User:Thatdamnedfollowspot/sig}})?

Okay:

  1. Create a time format template: here or here. In this template enclose {{{1}}} in the formatting you would like to see the time in, for example: <font color="#F00">{{{1}}}</font>
  2. Put the following code in your signature box in preferences: - {{SUBST:User:Thatdamnedfollowspot/time|{{subst:CURRENTTIME}} {{subst:CURRENTDAY}} {{subst:CURRENTMONTHNAME}} {{subst:CURRENTYEAR}}}} {{SUBST:nosubst|User:Thatdamnedfollowspot/sig}}
  3. And you are done! The code above you can change slightly. For example you change the format the time is laid out in by changing the time subst templates there. You can also put the time behind your sig by moving the whole {SUBST:User:Thatdamnedfollowspot/time|{{subst:CURRENTTIME}} {{subst:CURRENTDAY}} {{subst:CURRENTMONTHNAME}} {{subst:CURRENTYEAR}}}} bit after the actual sig substing bit.
  4. When you sign with three tildes you will implant something like this into the page, from then on: {{User:Thatdamnedfollowspot/time|01:14 7 August 2010}} {{User:Thatdamnedfollowspot/sig}}. Kapiche? - [01:12 7 August 2010] TheYetTalk
I finally got it to work, with the help of HELPME. I'm not going to change my signature again, lest all of Uncyclopedia and the lesser parts of Wikipedia implode. Leutnant Herr Thatdamnedfollowspot 02:41 Saturday, August 7, 2010
Oh okay. You ignored my help? Okay very well...Well glad it's working. - [12:10 7 August 2010] TheYetTalk
