Subjective judgement of "funny"[edit source]

Hi! I've noticed an overwhelming amount of New Articles coming from you, are, sad to say it but are not even funny, and may be NRV'd or VFD'd. Please, put more quality and time into work before hitting "Save Page". --Icons-flag-us.png SonicChao Babbel!Contribs 15:15, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

Great to get negative feedback already, coming from folks who are so quick to pass judgements. I'm sure your works are overwhelming in their funnyness.

Some folks are lucky enough to be paid for being funny. I am not one of them. Good for those who think that I should put much more time and effort before hitting the "save" button. Pay me.

Just so you know, not a single other person here is paid to do this. —Sir Major Hinoa [TALK] [KUN] 15:33, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
Do realise that, thank you. Tis always easier to criticise than to constructively criticise. Would have preferred the former, but anyway, such is life.--Spyvspy 15:39, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
I am not going to "pay you", I was giving helpful advice. If you don't listen, fine by me, All your articles are belong to NRV. --Icons-flag-us.png SonicChao Babbel!Contribs 15:35, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
Okay, I do appreciate your feedback. Would have liked to have it in a more encouraging way rather than a threatening tone. Really no need to get personal either.--Spyvspy 15:38, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
Well, since it seems you deleted my original comments (you know, I can also retrieve them, it's called a History button) I do not think that I was the least bit threatening. Also, getting mad at the admins (Hinoa) isn't helping your case either. --Icons-flag-us.png SonicChao Babbel!Contribs 15:42, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
I was not mad at Hinoa. Please do not flame the situation.--Spyvspy 15:44, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
I didn't detect any hostility, either. I just wanted to point that out. —Sir Major Hinoa [TALK] [KUN] 15:48, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
Ok. I've only got one more thing to say, than I'll shut up and leave this page when you said "I'm sure your works are overwhelming in their funnyness.", please check the Main Page. :D No, The Featured Article Box. Found it? Good. Anyway, I hope that you'll put more time before Saving. --Icons-flag-us.png SonicChao Babbel!Contribs 15:54, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
I will drop the issue. Thank you for letting me know how good you are. I'll get back to my boring life earning a salary and paying my mortgage now.--Spyvspy 22:36, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

Ladies....[edit source]

...calm down. We're talking about humour, not bombing the Middle East flat, unless thats funny. Lets just concentrate on making Uncyclopedia a funnier place. -- Sir Mhaille Icons-flag-gb.png (talk to me)

...agreed. I'm done watching this page. --Icons-flag-us.png SonicChao Babbel!Contribs 15:49, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
Thank you Mhaille, much appreciated. Some constructive feedback is all I needed. If someone thinks I'm not funny, then please tell me "this articule is not interesting because...", rather than a blanket "OMG this is sooo boring!!". Is this how things usually work here? I'd appreciate some feedback from a respected admin.--Spyvspy 22:32, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
Until one turns up, I'll have to do. Sometimes people just get a little argumentative over silly issues. I think in part its because of the creative element involved in writing articles, people often become emotionally attached to them, and to the site itself. We are all here because we want to make this place funny. No matter how many featured articles someone has, they will ALWAYS have something to learn, something that can improve their style, or a way to format the page better. It is important though to recognise that on the other side of the words, there are real people typing away. Mostly, we all get along fine. -- Sir Mhaille Icons-flag-gb.png (talk to me)
That's precisely the "respected admin feedback" I was after - thank you for that. I'm under absolutely no illusions that I have much to learn from the experienced folks here. However I doubt learning can progress if the only feedback consists of "your articles are boring". I will not burden you with the arduous task of educating this unfunny mind; all I hope for is a chance to collaborate with folks who are willing to give constructive feedback, and just to make life (mine and hopefully my collaborators') more interesting.--Spyvspy 01:49, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

Sorry....[edit source]

I wasn't going to come back, but I just want to let you know that I am sorry for this morning's comments. It was all about a few new articles, and was a typically stupid thing to do for a regular visitor to this website. --Icons-flag-us.png SonicChao Babbel!Contribs 23:49, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

Don't be. I need that kick up the backside. I was fortunate enough to have a few days off work and so decided to check this out. I guess my enthusiasm for the site went out of control, and had someone not come in and hammer home some truths, I might still be drivelling on. In a way, I do thank you. Apologies too for my part in the fracas. There really wasn't any need to get personal. No hard feelings if it's mutual? --Spyvspy 01:54, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
I'm glad everything is sorted, it leaves me with a warm feeling inside. Although that may be indigestion. -- Sir Mhaille Icons-flag-gb.png (talk to me)
