You see the moon in the sky. So high in the sky. You want to be closer to it, but you don't like traveling through space for weeks getting there. What do you do? You draw the moon down to the Earth! You want to use your new tractor beam to send a close by space object to destroy the Earth but can't find any? What do you do? You draw down the Moon!
