Shoddy Battle is an obscure Pokemon battle simulator that uses Java (not Jabba) of the Diamond/Pearl generation created by a group of programmers also known as The Sgt. Peppers Lonely Heart Clubs Band.

Design[edit | edit source]

The design of the Shoddy Battle basically looks like any standard program of all the operating systems ever made, so even that one lonely kid in the nonexistent country of Pluto can play Shoddy Battle on his Linux and show off to his imaginary friends named Iggy and Twerp. Specifically, it's ripped sprites from the games without any of the cool texture battle effects, or music, or sound effects, or.... well, you get the idea. The entire turn of the battle happens in one second with a block of text describing what happened in the side.

Special effects[edit | edit source]

Ummm....

You can put a caption here, if you want, or just nix this text altogether.

Accuracy of the Simulator[edit | edit source]

Well, it literally is the exact same battle engine from the Pokemon games. The creators often brag about their supernatural programming powers and have consistently defended any attacks from nonbelievers. In fact, they became vain about it, and ask all users to try to find something wrong with the battle engine, and even give away prize money to people who actually stump them. This has never been done.

Pokemon teams[edit | edit source]

If you ever played Pokemon Stadium and wished you can edit your pokemon's moves, that's Shoddy Battle. It allows you to pick any pokemon you want (yes, even Pikachu) and you can put any move that it can learn, and even tell it what item you want it to hold (get your mind out of the gutter) and what ability you want on it. You can also control its name, gender, and whether or not its shiny, and even its IV and EV values, and no, not Eevee or those blood-in-a-bag things in hospitals.

Level of Difficulty of the Standard Shoddy Battle User[edit | edit source]

If you are learning about Shoddy Battle for the first time from here, don't actually expect to win any battles. People who play on ShoddyBattle battle competitively while earning minimum wage and living out of their mom's basement. These people also breed their own live pokemon and sell them to fetishists who in turn sell it for food to other fetishists who in turn sell the remains to other fetishists, who in turn sell the remains of the remains to Michael Moore.

Do you seriously wanna battle these people? Duh, you DID play the first generation on your Game Boy, after all.
