Bananas in Pyjamas is an ABC children's television series about a pair of exhibitionist, homosexual, paedophile, rapist mutant bananas named "B1" and "B2". It is commonly believed that the "B" in their names stands for "banana" but in fact it stands for "buggery".

Theme Song[edit | edit source]

The Bananas are very open about their sexual deviancy, a fact that is made obvious during the opening credits while the show's theme song [1] is playing:

 Bananas in Pyjamas
 Are coming down the stairs.

 Bananas in Pyjamas
 Are coming down in pairs.

 Bananas in Pyjamas
 Are chasing teddy bears.

Cos on Tuesdays they will try
 To catch them unawares.

We can see the extent of the perversion of these fruity fruits by analysing the song.

The first two lines show the general inappropriate behaviour of these characters; they really should get a room somewhere rather than spreading their love all over public areas such as stair wells.

The next two lines emphasise the open gayness of the pair. They never go anywhere without each other. B1, being the dominant "top" half of the relationship, would whoop B2 upside of his head if he wasn't constantly available for his immediate sexual satisfaction.

The third pair of lines demonstrate that the Bananas will use soft toys to lure children into their bedrooms. They make a show of prentending to chase the teddy bear around, making stupid pratfalls and pleading to the child for assistance. When the child picks up the toy, they become entangled in barbed hooks that are embedded within, and the banana has its prey.

The final lines show that B1 and B2 are rapists who, on one day out of seven, sneak up on their victims, "catch them unawares" and have their way. The lyrics to the original version of the song, which had three more verses, are rumoured to have described the Bananas' methods for the other six days.
