Should we add {{policy}} or will it just confuse newbs (if not should we at least add it to the ignorable policies cat?--Sir Elvis KUN | Petition 23:28, 24 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Don't Give the Admins Lip[edit source]

This seems a bit aggresive and dare I say it ED like, I personally view admins as having a few more toys and responsabilities, but still essentialy "normal users", i.e. when counting votes I don't assign more weight to an admins than any others, equaly in discussions. Obviously a admin is likely to be given more leeway in "dubiouse" actions but this is because generaly admins are more experienced Uncyclopedians but thats more a reflection of the requirements of being an admin.

Finaly if we can encourage this view it only makes the admins' jobs easier, deletion is only one of 2 or 3 options open for QVD, normal users can revert vandalism, Ban Patrol is a major source of "intel" for bans and blocks and is essentialy user driven and not forgetting that there are a lot of users funnier than me! --Sir Elvis KUN | Petition 08:10, 25 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Right, but I intended to illustrate that talking back to admins in an unproductive manner is a no-no. Basically, over the summer, I had the experience of delaing with some more persistent and very immature users. I felt I needed to make this point clear. While it is authoritatian (pedantic, even,) I feel that it's needed as a Thing To Point To in case of ugly disputes.--Sir Flammable KUN 21:41, 22 Sep 2005 (UTC)

I would agree with Flammable. While it's not in the spirit of Uncylopedia, it's nice to have it down in black & white. For the most part, I don't think it's an issue. Most of the discussions I have with users are pretty calm, and I think we as an admin crew do a good job of not fanning flames. Which is kinda weird for a site filled with lies.

My take on the whole thing is that most likely, an admin has been here far longer than you, and thus probably has a much better idea of "how it is" than you have. Most of the time we'll communicate that clearly, and everyone will be amicable. Once in awhile we'll get some arrogant user who just is an ass to everyone, and refuses to look at it from another point of view. Thus, if an admin says that's the way it is, that's the way it is. I think that it applies to .01% of the users we get here, but I like having it to point to. And really, why would you be an ass to someone with the power to ban you? Just to see if they will? --Bone F clear.png Sir Famine, Gun Petition » 02:22, 23 Sep 2005 (UTC)

OMG typoes![edit source]

Under "Don't State The Obvious", should be "Jonathan Swift", not "Johnathan Swift". Also, "political" was spelled "politcal" Insert apologetic look here. --lilo 13:08, 30 January 2006

Fix't! Cheers. --Splaka 07:05, 31 January 2006 (UTC) PS: Should we unprotect this page yet?
Yeah, this page should be unprotected. Look at all the mistakes. "Advert"? What's that? --Lt. Clorox MUN Goatse Virgin ONS (talk/fortune cookie) 22:06, 25 April 2006 (UTC)
