WiFi[edit source]

Rewrote this a while ago. It has good execution, but the material is a bit short. Your thoughts? --User0 20:42, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

Humour: 5.4 avg of all sections.
  • Intro (5)

I wish Oscar Wilde and the Russian Reversal would have love children. Love children who would kill their parents and then each other.

  • 1.1 Before WiFi (7)

Adequate comedic value. It wasn't good enough for stand up, but it's fine.

  • 1.2 The creation of WiFi (5)

Random. What is IEEE? I'm assuming that these are real historical dates, otherwise it's just more random crap. Wait... there's no humor here! It's like you're lecturing to me.

  • 2 Comparison of WiFi frequencies (4.5)

No no no. This is NOT acceptable. It's a list, and not only that, it's a random list! At least it's in a table (+.5).

  • 3 Other applications of WiFi (6)

Ugh, you started the section with a quote? Also, again, you aren't even trying to be funny, you're just lecturing us. This isn't Wikipedia (although we like to think we're as popular)

  • 4 References (delete it)
  • 5 See also (delete it)
Concept: 6 nearly adequate idea. Not brilliant or anything.
Prose and formatting: 6 Looks nice, pics all line up, good spelling, grammar... It's that damn table! (9 -3)

Images: 7 Pictures are average, but your little comments on them are lame. They add to the article and they are nice looking but they have lame one liners underneath. That's average for me.
Miscellaneous: 6.1 avg of your other scores.
Final Score: 30.5 It's fine right now. I guess just keep writing? If this were mine, I don't know what I would add.

Thanks for the review! Just a few comments though:

  • that RR quote was by a anon, it's better than my OW quote though, but I'm sure someone can make a funny Wifi quote
  • the diagram needs work, still learning how to use Inkscape
  • the manager quote: wireless electricity reflects on how some people thought their wireless router didn't actually need any wires
  • too much Wi-fi jargon? eg: bridge, reception, neighbours, 54, 100 meters to 10 meters, etc..
  • the table: I just like making data tables. The random inside the table will be deleted of course

I can fix what I have, but I don't really know what to add either. Meh, can't someone else do it?--User0 22:42, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
