UnNews:Economic Crisis going to plan[edit source]

Humour: 6 An article, I think, that conforms with the "opposite is funny" nature of several Uncyclopedia articles. Whilst that policy has worked wonders in some places, this UnNews article does seem a little forced. As if you were told (at gunpoint) to make an article that is disparaging about George Bush, yet related to the concurrent economic crisis. However, it is an interesting concept; the fact that the recession is actually orchestrated by a world leader,

In September, McCain was to have said "the economy is fine" [1]. Maybe that McCain-ism could've been exploited?

Concept: 7 I like the idea, but the execution is lacklustre. There aren't too many articles about the recession, so there is space left for this article, however, it's just not exploited enough. You could've added more content, more quotes, more references, a better image and so on. However, the original idea is quite good. Labling the blame on a world leader, whilst stating that it was actually intended.
Prose and formatting: 5 Nothing much worth shouting about to be honest. There are several typos, the article is short, quotes (both of them - you need more to make this feel like a news article and not something I fished for in a tabloid) are not italicised and there is little content at all anyway.

Dig for more references between Bush and the recession. That should give you a head start with adding more material.

Images: 3 No. You can definately, definately get a better image for this article if you just tried. The only link between the article and the image is that it shows Bush and a "we are fucked" quote much attributed towards the recession. The image, in fact, is a TIME magazine cover. How many articles have a TIME cover as the accompanying image? Even so, this image is being used already in an article that is popular enough amongst readers who struggle to think of an article that will definately be funny, the article on Geroge Bush himself. We don't need to see that image again.

Why not show an image of Bush laughing whilst reading something, with the caption of "Bush observes the figures of falling stocks"? Something like that would be miles better, I reckon.

Miscellaneous: 5.3 Average'd.
Final Score: 26.3 A adequate concept that is poorly done. It could be rescued, but to what lengths I don't know. I doubt it could be as good as a VFH.
