PAISLEY PARK, Minnesota -- UnNews is shocked and saddened to learn that legendary pop music icon Prince died Thursday. He was 57 and had reportedly stayed awake for 154 straight hours. The artist once again known as Prince was found unconscious in an elevator, and paramedics were unable to revive him.
What can be said about The Purple One that hasn't already been said? He gave the world "Little Red Corvette," 1999, Purple Rain (The movie, album, and song), When Doves Cry, Raspberry Beret (the kind you find in a secondhand store), Diamonds and Pearls, Sign O' The Times, and Kiss (No, not THAT KISS!), which Tom Jones famously covered.
Let us also not forget that he did the Batman 1989 soundtrack. Batdance, Partyman, Electric Chair. The Purple One would dress as half-Prince/half-Joker, half-Joker/half-Batman/all-Two-Face, or some such combination.

Throughout the 80s and 90s, Prince was ripe for parody, but every time Weird Al approached him, The Purple One said no.
In fact, when they both attended the American Music Awards one year, Prince's lawyer sent the funnyman a telegram warning him not to make eye contact with The Purple One.
But Prince was weird enough without Al. In 1993, amid disputes with Warner Bros., Prince changed his name to 
. However, people preferred to call him The Artist Formerly Known as Prince, or simply TAFKAP. Because abbreviations are cool. When his Warner contract expired in 2000 (one year after 1999), changed his name back to Prince, or The Artist Once Again Known as Prince.
In Prince's final weeks, he had reportedly been sick with the flu and had to make an emergency plane landing, postponing a concert. Later, he played a private gig at his Paisley Park home. He told the audience to "wait a few days before you waste any prayers." And now, he's gone.
Farewell, Prince. May you rest in peace.
