You run past the last grue, making it just in time... The sword and the lamp - your prize - lie just in front of you. In front of you is the Dungeon Master with a golden cup and a placard saying:

"You have won the game. All hail the winner!"

You rejoice. Is this really the end of the game? Is it over? Through all the obstacles, imaginable and unimaginable, you have made it this far!

Except for the small detail. You realize it immediately after touching the cap. The Dungeon Master contacts you telepathically, and his words echo in your head.

"It is impossible to win.

Regardless of the direction you take, regardless of the number of puzzles you solve, of the items you possess, you will still die. Even after allegedly winning the game.

I don't know what will go wrong this time, but something probably will."

And as he finishes, all the light bulbs on the ceiling turn off. Probably a power shortage...

And all you see is a pair of eyes right in front of you, which you can now identify from the first sight.

A grue.

We're terribly sorry. At one point, we actually considered giving you a way to win.

But not this time.
