The People's Republic of Merseyside, more commonly known as the Republic of Merseyside, is a nation located on on the North West coast of the United Kingdom. The Republic consists of five metropolitan boroughs: Wirral, Sefton, Knowsley, St Helens and The City of Liverpool - which all gained their independence in December 2019.

The People's Republic of Merseyside spans 249 square miles (645 km2) of land which borders Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Cheshire and the Irish Sea to the west. North Wales is across the Dee Estuary. There is a mix of high-density urban areas, suburbs, semi-rural and rural locations in Merseyside, but overwhelmingly the land use is urban.

Despite its deceleration as a People's Republic, Merseyside still retains King Charles III as a figurehead.

The County of Merseyside was initially granted independence from the United Kingdom by Boris Johnson's conservative government. This was after Liverpool Mayor, Joe Anderson, called for a local referendum as to where the county stood. After a landslide 94.4% vote for independence, the path of Merseyside's future was clear. The People's Republic of Merseyside was declared an independent nation on the 4th January 2020.

The Tory Uprising and Exile: 2019 - 2020[edit | edit source]

After the announcement of the referendum, many of the Against voters, and those who voted conservative in the 2019 General Election, rode out into the streets in force. initially, it was a peaceful protest, despite alleged racial abuse, along with the chant 'Death to the NHS!' The majority of the public responded in kind, and a riot soon broke out in the streets of Liverpool. These riots carried on throughout the night, and well into the morning. At dawn, Wirral West had become a safe haven for the, now declared, Tory Rebels. In response, the 1st Merseyside Militia Company was swiftly formed to combat the insurgents.
